Hi guys,
I have been away for a while, but since the last
two weeks I started restoring parts again.
I was able to restore all parts that were heater related,
the battery tray, the dimmer switch and the front and rear seats brackets. I also searched in my zillions
ziploc bags and found all bolts and screws required to install the parts I had restored so far. So now every parts have their fasteners
restored also and are ready to install on the car...in a few years
.
Here are some Before and After shots of the parts:
Heater/Defroster ducts that go under the dash:
After testing the motor, I completely disassembled it, repainted it and re-assembled with new seals.
I had the heater core pressure tested, then I cleaned and repainted it with black high temperature paint.
That's the heater vent located on the firewall. I removed the flapper from the pipe and changed the seal, then painted and re-assembled.
I also made a gasket to install between the vent and the firewall as no reproduction is available.
I did the same thing with the kick panel vents flappers.
The battery tray that I have was shot, so I bought a new one with the battery holder from E-bay. Looks better.
Finally, I restored the headlight dimmer switch and the front and rear seats brackets.
It's amazing how time flies. It has been 5 years that I bought the car already. My target was 10 years to complete
the car, so there's still hope.
At least I am making some
progress. I will now continue to restore bits and pieces that can be powder coated. Stay tuned and thanks for reading!
